Basketball Recap: McKinney Boyd Takes a Loss

McKinney Boyd lost against Plano West back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The McKinney Boyd Broncos fell 68-55 to the Plano West Wolves. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Wolves are ranked 65th).

McKinney Boyd has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-18 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points over those games. As for Plano West, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 22-9.

Coming up, McKinney Boyd will take on Prosper at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in McKinney Boyd's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. As for Plano West, they and Plano East will meet in a classic East v. West matchup at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plano East knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Plano West likes a good challenge.
