Basketball Recap: Miami Christian Falls Short of Westwood Christian in the Playoffs

Miami Christian and Westwood Christian squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Miami Christian had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Westwood Christian Warriors and fell 68-37. While losing is never fun, the Victors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while the Warriors are ranked 142nd).

Westwood Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Devin Mcintyre out in front who went 6-for-13 to rack up 19 points. Mcintyre has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Jason Martinez was another key player, going 6-for-10 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Miami Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Westwood Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.

Miami Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westwood Christian, they will challenge Atlantic Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Westwood Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Atlantic Christian likes a good challenge.
