York took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Lakeview, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Dukes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Vikings on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Dukes as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was York who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 9-25, 26-24.

Claire Koch was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 16 digs and three assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Danika Pohl, who had ten digs and one assist.

Despite the loss, Lakeview still got an impressive performance from Kenzie Greisen, who had 19 digs and one assist.

York's victory bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Lakeview, their defeat ended an 11-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-4.

York wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Lexington on the 16th. As for Lakeview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Aurora on the 18th.
