Baseball Game Preview: Edgerton Bulldogs vs. Pettisville Blackbirds

The Edgerton Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Pettisville Blackbirds at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Edgerton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Edgerton is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Archbold just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Blue Streaks by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Edgerton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cory Herman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Pettisville suffered their closest defeat since April 25, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Edon by a score of 4-2.

Ryan Bishop was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bishop was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double.

Edgerton's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Pettisville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Edgerton took their victory against Pettisville when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
