Basketball Recap: Jamari Clark Key Part of a Team Effort in Redhawks Win

Monroe won against Anson last Tuesday with 57 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. The Monroe Redhawks walked away with a 57-46 win over the Parkwood Wolf Pack. Given the Redhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Wolf Pack are ranked 454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Monroe's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamari Clark, who posted 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Clark a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaegan Chambers, who went 5 of 9 to rack up 14 points and six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Parkwood had strong showings from Deshaun Hamrick, who had 17 points, and Nehemiah Davis, who earned 17 points. Micah Davis was another key player, putting up eight points.

Monroe's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for Parkwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Monroe beat Parkwood by a score of 60-49 on Friday.
