Softball Recap: Dobie Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Dobie posted their closest victory since February 28th on Tuesday. They skirted past the Shadow Creek Sharks 12-11. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.

Persephone Soria was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Natalie De Hoyos was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.

Dobie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Dobie pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Shadow Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Dobie will face off against Pearland at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Oilers will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Longhorns surely won't give up without a fight. As for Shadow Creek, they will head out on the road to square off against Pasadena Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mavericks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.58 runs per game on average), something the Sharks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
