Brevard won the last time they faced Patton and things went their way on Friday too. Brevard narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Patton 6-5.

Emma Bailey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Kynna McCall and Claire Wilson did most of the damage at the plate: McCall went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Wilson scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That home run was McCall's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ava Rogers, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Brevard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Patton only managed six hits.

Brevard's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Patton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brevard will host Hendersonville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Patton, they will be playing at home against R-S Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Patton's pitchers better be ready for this one: R-S Central has averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
