After a string of eight wins, Clifton-Clyde's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 2-0 to the Hanover Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss two weeks ago.

While Clifton-Clyde ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Sevy Wurtz and Calyn Baker, who picked up seven kills apiece. Wurtz really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with eight.

Clifton-Clyde's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Hanover, their record is now 22-4.

Coincidentally, Clifton-Clyde and Hanover will both be playing Washington County the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
