Basketball Recap: Labette County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pittsburg last Tuesday, Labette County came back down to earth. The Labette County Grizzlies took a 44-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Field Kindley Golden Tornado. The matchup marked the Grizzlies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Labette County lost on Friday, don't look at Landry Obrien. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds Obrien has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Amery Baker, who earned seven points and five steals.

Labette County's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Field Kindley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Labette County will face off against Tonganoxie at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Field Kindley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
