With a playoff win on the line, St. John rose to the challenge on Friday. They never let the Bishop Ireton Cardinals get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won 19 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory was the 16th in a row for St. John's, bringing their record up to 26-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Ireton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-22 record this season.

St. John's will face off against Gonzaga at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cadets are on a 25-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Eagles a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Bishop Ireton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
