The Vintage Crushers will challenge the Campolindo Cougars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Vintage will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Vintage is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell 11-8 to Maria Carrillo on Wednesday. The Crushers haven't had much luck with the Pumas recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Riley Marek and Blake Porter did some serious damage despite the final result: Marek scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Porter scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Porter has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Dario Freschi was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Even though they lost, Vintage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Campolindo not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2, 2024. They were the clear victor by a 9-2 margin over Pinole Valley. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won six in a row.
Campolindo also got a great performance from Dom Caruso as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave Caruso a new career-high.
At the plate, Blake Robison and Max Olson did most of the damage at the plate: Robison went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Olson scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits Robison has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Fischer, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Campolindo's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Vintage, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Vintage came out on top in a nail-biter against Campolindo in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Does Vintage have another victory up their sleeve, or will Campolindo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
