Basketball Recap: Stratford Takes a Loss

Stratford played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 65-34 defeat at the hands of the McGavock Raiders. The Spartans have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Stratford lost, don't look at Hannah Johnson. Despite the final result, she went 5 for 11 on her way to 19 points and five rebounds. That's the most boards Johnson has posted since back in January.

Stratford's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for McGavock, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stratford will venture away from home to take on White House at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McGavock, they will head out on the road to challenge East Nashville Magnet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. East Nashville Magnet will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something McGavock surely won't give up without a fight.
