Volleyball Recap: New London Wildcats vs. Monroeville Eagles

New London suffered their biggest loss since September 17th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Monroeville Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.

While New London had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-19, 25-21.

Monroeville found their leader in underclassman Addison Homan, who had 29 digs and two aces. Homan is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last 23 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Stieber, who had ten digs.

New London is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12. As for Monroeville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-1.

New London has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Colonel Crawford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. New London is facing Colonel Crawford at the right time seeing as Colonel Crawford is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Monroeville has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Carey on the 12th.
