2017 National High School Football Player of the Year Watch List

High-profile quarterbacks JT Daniels and Trevor Lawrence among candidates for nation's highest honor.

As we approach the end of the high school football season these are the ten candidates who are the favorite to be named the MaxPreps National Football Player of the Year.

We took our initial look at POY candidates in early October. Since then, three new names have played themselves into consideration.

Two future running backs for the University of Georgia, two soon-to-be Clemson Tigers and a 2019 USC commit are all featured among the 10 players selected.

In total five quarterbacks made the cut, two running backs, two wide receivers and one of the best two-way players.

Team success is one of the biggest factors when it comes to deciding on a winner. The players highlighted have combined to go 101-3 so far this season and whoever takes home the hardware will be sure to have a big impact in the postseason.
