With a playoff win on the line, Escambia rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Booker T. Washington Wildcats. This was a revenge game for the Gators: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in February, they had to take a 7-0 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Caleb Bates, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Eli Wilbanks also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Escambia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Escambia's win bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Booker T. Washington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-11.

Escambia has already played their next matchup (against Choctawhatchee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Booker T. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
