Playoff upsets paved the way for new teams to enter this week's Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

Euless Trinity and South Panola were unexpectedly bounced from the playoffs in Texas and Mississippi, respectively, serving a reminder of just how difficult it is to win a state title.

The Top 5 in the rankings remain unchanged. Bishop Gorman is on the path to another Nevada state title. St. John Bosco and Centennial both won and are poised to collide in the Pac-5 finals. Allen and Colquitt County are favored to win state titles in their respective classes as well.

Benefiting from the weekend's upsets are Lone Peak and Center Grove, which notched big victories on Friday night. Lone Peak upended defending Utah Class 5A champion Bingham while Center Grove won a double-overtime thriller against Avon.
