Softball Recap: Lubbock-Cooper Extends Road Winning Streak to 14

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lubbock-Cooper walked away with it. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Parkland Matadors on Saturday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Matadors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Brooklyn Ray's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addison Luna, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Pesterfield, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Lubbock-Cooper's victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Parkland, their loss dropped their record down to 20-16.

As of now, neither Lubbock-Cooper nor the Matadors have any future games scheduled.
