Baseball Preview: Woodmore Wildcats vs. Margaretta Polar Bears
The Woodmore Wildcats will challenge the Margaretta Polar Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Wednesday, Woodmore needed a bit of extra time to put away St. Mary Central Catholic. They skirted past the Panthers 6-4. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Calvin Lipstraw made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lipstraw was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Margaretta can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Willard 3-1. The game was the first time the Polar Bears have beaten the Crimson Flashes on their field since May 2, 2022.
Woodmore's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Margaretta, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-6.
