Baseball Recap: Richfield's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Richfield's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Fridley Tigers by a score of 9-5. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Henry Landin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Noah Mayer was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Cole Nutting was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Richfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Richfield now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Fridley, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
