Basketball Recap: Warwick Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Warwick won the last time they faced Heritage and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Warwick Raiders came out on top against the Heritage Hurricanes by a score of 50-40. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Warwick has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Heritage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Warwick will head out to face off against Denbigh at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Warwick is facing Denbigh at the right time seeing as Denbigh is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Heritage, they will be playing at home against Hampton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hampton's defense has only allowed 26.6 points per game this season, so Heritage's offense will have their work cut out for them.
