Football Recap: Lake Region Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Lake Region kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 28-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the George Jenkins Eagles. The Thunder have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Thunder players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Semaj Jeanty, who threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in one rushing score. 84 of Jeanty's passing yards were hauled in by Erik Koshinski, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Lake Region didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jermaine May.

Looking ahead, Lake Region will be playing at home against Winter Haven at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for George Jenkins, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Meade at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
