Baseball Recap: Dedham Gets the Win

While Dedham's win against Medway wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Marauders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Mustangs on Wednesday. The Marauders haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Liam Dowling was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Dowling was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryan Laughter, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Dedham: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Galvin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory got Dedham back to even at 6-6. As for Medway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Dedham has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Norwood on the 8th. As for Medway, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-3 win against Medfield on the 8th.
