Baseball Game Preview: Akron Rams vs. Peetz Bulldogs

The Akron Rams will take on the Peetz Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Akron's favor as the squad sits on 11 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Peetz has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Akron will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Burlington, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Akron put the hurt on Burlington with a sharp 13-4 victory on Saturday. Considering the Rams have won three matches by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Akron got a massive performance out of Caleb Poss, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Those three runs gave Poss a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Merek Charney, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-5.

Akron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burlington only posted an OBP of .400.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Friday. Peetz came up short against Otis, falling 10-2.

Rhyder Bayne and Tanner Wood stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bayne scored a run and stole two bases, while Wood scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Peetz's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Akron, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Akron has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Peetz struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
