Football Recap: Wayne Takes a Loss

Wayne extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were beaten by the Lakeview Vikings 55-7. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Vikings are ranked ninth).

Easton Endicott threw for 87 yards and one touchdown. Parker Patefield was his top target, picking up 82 receiving yards. On the ground, Taven Ocampo rushed for 64 yards.

As for Lakeview, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.

Brandon Deanda was his usual excellent self, rushing for 150 yards and five scores while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Nash Henk was another key player, gaining 160 total yards and two touchdowns.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wayne is set to face off against their familiar foe Pierce at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lakeview will square off against rival Scotus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
