Whitney Young added to the longest winning streak in Chicago Public - Big Shoulders this week by beating Schurz, 6-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Steinmetz took down Lincoln Park 40-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Francisco Ayapan was a key player and the best on defense this week as Taft bested Mather. The 5-foot-10 senior pulled down 2 interceptions.
Noah Hanna was a passing and rushing force as Whitney Young defeated the Bulldogs.
Hanna was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 153 yards on 30 carries as Tim Franken's team topped the Rangers. Teammate David Craan added to the ground attack by rushing for 53 yards.
On the heels of Javier Chavez and James Liss, Taft has had great success on offense. Chavez leads the league in passing with 499 yards, while Liss has rushed for 602 yards this season. Schurz's Deven Weathers leads the league in receiving yards with 361 on 12 catches.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Matthew Walsh's team and Peter Fosco's team face off next week.
At the moment, the Silver Streaks are in third, while the Dolphins are in first.
Roosevelt made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,891 from 13,488. The advance stemmed from a 28-0 victory over Amundsen last week.
