Soccer Recap: Plant Comes Up Short

Plant was the 2-0 winner over Bloomingdale when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Plant Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bloomingdale Bulls on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Bulls are ranked 28th).

Plant's goal came courtesy of Angelina Gianelli, who's now up to seven this season.

Plant's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1. As for Bloomingdale, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plant will be home for the holidays to greet Blake at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, Bloomingdale and Strawberry Crest will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Strawberry Crest's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Bloomingdale's offense will have their work cut out for them.
