Basketball Game Preview: Summit Academy Bears vs. Morgan Trojans

Summit Academy hasn't had much luck against Morgan recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Summit Academy Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Morgan Trojans at 7:00 p.m.

Summit Academy is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 75-44 loss at the hands of Pine View. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Panthers are ranked 48th).

Meanwhile, Morgan entered their tilt with Uintah on Monday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They strolled past the Utes with points to spare, taking the game 66-49.

Morgan pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Summit Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Things could have been worse for Summit Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 74-59 loss to Morgan in their previous matchup back in January of 2024.
