Softball Game Preview: Northmont Thunderbolts vs. Springboro Panthers

The Northmont Thunderbolts will square off against the Springboro Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Northmont has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northmont is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Tri-Village just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 13-3 to the Patriots.

Meanwhile, Springboro narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Waynesville 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Vanessa Hornfeck, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Northmont's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Springboro, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
