Football Game Preview: Gruver Greyhounds vs. Stratford Elks + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Briggs Satterfield and Chase Lantelme are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Gruver Greyhounds will challenge the Stratford Elks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Gruver comes in on six and Stratford on seven.

Gruver is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 23-13 victory over Ropes. Those 23 points were actually the fewest the Greyhounds have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Mason Lankford continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, picking up 131 receiving yards and one TD. Those 131 receiving yards gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Stratford took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-14 win over Bovina. The result was nothing new for the Elks, who have now won nine games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Stratford's win came from a few key players Gruver will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ranger Carroll, who picked up 124 receiving yards and a pair of scores. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 60 yards. Darius Jones also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Stratford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 190 rushing yards in seven consecutive contests.

Stratford's defense made their presence known, laying out Elijah Rocha five times. Case Brown refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Kooper Walden was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Gruver's record is now 11-2. As for Stratford, their record now sits at an identical 11-2.

Gruver couldn't quite get it done against Stratford in their previous meeting back in October as they fell 40-27. Can the Greyhounds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
