Basketball Recap: San Jon Coyotes vs. Wagon Mound Trojans

San Jon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 27th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Wagon Mound Trojans 96-14. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-22 back in December of 2024.

Wagon Mound was led to victory by Eugene Armijo and Josiah Vasquez. Armijo dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards, while Vasquez went 13 of 18 en route to 30 points and three steals. Armijo is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Valdez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

San Jon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Wagon Mound, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.

San Jon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 32-26 loss against Clovis Christian on the 25th. As for Wagon Mound, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-39 defeat against Roy/Mosquero on the 24th.
