Basketball Recap: Bethlehem Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Bethlehem Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 67-41 to the Lakeview Academy Lions. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Lions are ranked 51st).

Despite the defeat, Bethlehem Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ryleigh Acres went 6 for 11 on her way to 13 points and three steals. That's the most points Acres has posted since back in December of 2023. Bella Fry was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Bethlehem Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Lakeview Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

Bethlehem Christian Academy will square off against Tallulah Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bethlehem Christian Academy is facing Tallulah Falls at the right time seeing as Tallulah Falls is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lakeview Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Carrollton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Carrollton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Lakeview Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
