Soccer Recap: Montbello Comes Up Short

The Montbello Warriors didn't have quite enough to beat the Denver North Vikings on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, Montbello can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Denver North are ranked 22nd).

Jose Meza and Osman Ibarra scored both of Montbello's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Montbello and nudges their season record down to 4-4-1. As for Denver North, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-1-1 record this season.

Montbello wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 defeat against Rocky Mountain Prep SMART on the 3rd. As for Denver North, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-1 draw against Denver East on the 3rd.
