Preview: Kingman Bulldogs vs. Kingman Academy Tigers

Kingman is 1-9 against Kingman Academy since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Kingman Bulldogs are on the road again and play against the Kingman Academy Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Kingman will be strutting in after a win while Kingman Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Kingman has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Odyssey Institute 66-44. Kingman's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Neo Walema was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Thomas Kasting, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Kingman Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Heritage Academy. While losing is never fun, Kingman Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Heritage Academy is ranked 95th).

Kingman is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Kingman Academy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-6.

Kingman didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Kingman Academy in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 59-54 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kingman since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
