Soccer Recap: Douglas Byrd Takes a Loss

Douglas Byrd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 9-0 to the Cape Fear Colts. That's two games in a row now that Douglas Byrd have lost by exactly nine goals.

Douglas Byrd's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Cape Fear, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Douglas Byrd will head out to take on Seventy-First at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Douglas Byrd will be up against Seventy-First's rather soft defense (which has allowed 7.64 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cape Fear, they will venture away from home to challenge Jack Britt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jack Britt will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Cape Fear surely won't give up without a fight.
