Douglas's Jordan Shaffer recorded the longest rushing play in 4A Far West this season in his game against Brookings-Harbor last week. Shaffer's team bested the Bruins as he sprinted for 53 yards on the play and finished with 188 in all.

Siuslaw added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Marshfield, 51-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Vikings.

Douglas' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Shaffer has thrown for 1,076 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Chance Wimberly has 31 catches for 290 yards. Shaffer also leads the league in rushing with 588 yards.

Two of the top units in 4A Far West will face off this week when Douglas takes on Siuslaw. Barrett Smith's team's offense has recorded 204 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Tim Dodson's team has permitted only 68 on the year.

At the moment, the Vikings are in first, while the Trojans are in third.

South Umpqua made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,298 from 10,560. The advance stemmed from a 56-29 victory over Illinois Valley last week.
