West Park took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against McClatchy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Lions 4-2. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won five matches in a row.

Emma Juarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jolene White, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Giada Cornwell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

West Park's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.2 runs. As for McClatchy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-4 record.
