Softball Game Preview: Bristol Panthers vs. Chalker Wildcats

For the second straight game, Bristol will face off against Chalker. The Panthers will welcome the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Bristol duked it out with Chalker on Wednesday. The Panthers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 8-1. The Panthers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

For Chalker's part, Harley Griffeth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bailey Ann Bussey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Grimm, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs.

The win (which was Chalker's third in a row) raised their record to 4-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bristol, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
