Basketball Recap: Ben's Ford Christian Beats Poplarville for Their 11th Straight Victory

Ben's Ford Christian came tearing into Tuesday's game with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Poplarville Hornets 56-32. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 24 points or more this season.

Ben's Ford Christian was led to victory by Zoe Nastasia and Avery Dantin. Nastasia went 11 of 20 on her way to 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals, while Dantin went 6 for 14 on her way to 16 points along with seven steals and six boards. The contest was Nastasia's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Willis, who posted five points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Ben's Ford Christian pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Poplarville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Ben's Ford Christian will head out to square off against Columbia Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ben's Ford Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Columbia Academy likes a good challenge. As for Poplarville, they will take on Stone in a tournament on Thursday. Poplarville is facing Stone at the right time seeing as Stone is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
