Basketball Recap: Branson Pirates vs. Webb City Cardinals
The Branson Pirates pushed their score all the way to 67 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 86-67 to Webb City. While losing is never fun, Branson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Cardinals are ranked 77th).
Barron Duda was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals for Webb City. Duda has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 17 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Holton Keith, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Branson has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Webb City, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Branson will square off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Webb City, they will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
