Softball Game Preview: Law Lawmen vs. North Haven Nighthawks

The Law Lawmen will head out on the road to take on the North Haven Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Law will be strutting in after a win while North Haven will be coming in after a defeat.

Law's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Lauralton Hall. The result was nothing new for the Lawmen, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, North Haven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 8-2 to Amity Regional. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Nighthawks have suffered against the Spartans since April 14, 2021.

Emelia Brandi was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Law is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for North Haven, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Law came out on top in a nail-biter against North Haven when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lawmen since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
