Softball Recap: Bishop Snyder Comes Up Short

Bishop Snyder lost against Fleming Island back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 5-4. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caitlyn Boshell put in work no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and only one walk). Boshell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Boshell wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Gotto, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Bishop Snyder's record is now 10-5. As for Fleming Island, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Snyder will welcome Bradford at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Tornadoes have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Fleming Island, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tocoi Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
