Huntington Beach dropped their record down to 13-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 13-7 to the Royal Highlanders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Oilers have suffered since March 29, 2024.

As for Royal, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the game before.

For Royal's part, Mikaela Jones was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave Jones a new career-high. Emily Albert was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Huntington Beach didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-4 loss against Thousand Oaks on the 24th. As for Royal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-5 victory against Dos Pueblos on the 24th.
