Softball Recap: Nightingale-Bamford Gets the Win

While Nightingale-Bamford's win against St. Ann wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Nighthawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 victory over the Steamers on Wednesday. The Nighthawks haven't had any issues with the Steamers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Mingma Sherpa was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kate Buckhurst, who went 2-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Nightingale-Bamford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Nightingale-Bamford pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for St. Ann's, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

As of now, neither Nightingale-Bamford nor the Steamers have any future games scheduled.
