Union Pines proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Jack Britt Buccaneers. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Union Pines wouldn't go down easily and took Jack Britt into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-16, 25-13, 18-25, 15-12.

When it comes to explaining why Jack Britt lost, don't look at Elynoeh Cuevas-Vidal. Despite the final result, she had 19 digs and four assists.

Union Pines' win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Union Pines will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Gray's Creek at 5:45 p.m. As for Jack Britt, they will take on Triton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
