Basketball Recap: Javon Brewton Key Part of a Team Effort in Thunderhawks Win

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Prairie View on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 78-61 win over the Northglenn Norsemen. For the Thunderhawks, this counts as revenge for the 70-46 victory the Norsemen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Prairie View got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Javon Brewton out in front who went 9 for 13 en route to 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chidiebere Akotaobi, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.

Several Norsemen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Scrivani, who went 10 of 18 on his way to 24 points. Another player making a difference was Emari Wade, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

The victory got Prairie View back to even at 8-8. As for Northglenn, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Prairie View will challenge Boulder at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Prairie View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season. As for Northglenn, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-53 defeat against Brighton on the 23rd.
