Baseball Recap: Granada Takes a Loss

Granada was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stratton Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Sebastian Pizarro was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Maddox Coleman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Granada's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Stratton, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Granada beat the Eagles by a score of 7-5 later that day.
