Newark Catholic and Lakewood are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Green Wave will head out to take on the Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Newark Catholic 2.9, Lakewood 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Wednesday, Newark Catholic came up short against Licking Valley and fell 9-4.

Meanwhile, Lakewood waltzed into their match on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Hornets.

Lakewood's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Newark Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Newark Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Lakewood when the teams last played on April 7th as they fell 5-1. Can the Green Wave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
