Briggs can attribute much of their success to Kinsey Rife, who had 14 digs and two aces. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Rife now had ten or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
Briggs was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 33 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Westland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Worthington Kilbourne.
The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-13, 25-9.
Briggs pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Westland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
