Basketball Recap: Columbia Independent Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

If Keytesville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Columbia Independent, they should've done a better job of containing Blake Morris. Columbia Independent really took it to the Keytesville Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-27 win thanks in part to Morris, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Morris is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Another player making a difference was Thomas Wood, who posted ten points and five boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Columbia Independent's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for Keytesville, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Columbia Independent will challenge Calvary Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Keytesville, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Keytesville Tigers face off against the Southwest Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keytesville is facing Southwest at the right time seeing as Southwest is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
