Academy of Careers & Exploration is 8-2 against Hesperia Christian since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Eagle will welcome the Patriots at 3:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Academy of Careers & Exploration is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Silver Valley 31-9 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagle sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Izabella Sanchez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sanchez was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Academy of Careers & Exploration got a massive performance out of Addison Shockley, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. That's the most runs Shockley has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Coffel, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, nine RBI, and three runs.
Academy of Careers & Exploration always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .776. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Hesperia Christian won against Lucerne Valley last Tuesday with 25 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Patriots put the hurt on Silver Valley with a sharp 25-1 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won three matchups in a row.
Charli Lewis made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Lewis was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Hailey Hoffman was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Elyse VanderWeide was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Hesperia Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Academy of Careers & Exploration, their win bumped their record up to 9-6-1.
Hesperia Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Academy of Careers & Exploration has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Hesperia Christian, though, as they've been averaging 10.3 hits. Given Academy of Careers & Exploration's sizable advantage in that area, the Patriots will need to find a way to close that gap.
